NEW JOB ON 'DRY LAND' FOR SAILOR RHYS

31st December 2018

Award-winning Peugeot dealer Arthurs is further expanding its Wrexham team.

Latest recruit is Rhys Chandler, 19, whose new role as an aftersales adviser expands that department of the dealership.

Said Dealer Principal Philip Corfield: “We are pleased to announce the new position of Rhys as we continue the growth within the aftersales department.

“The expansion is a result of what we consider to be our excellent customer service for which we are winning awards and believe that Rhys has the skills set to complement the team.”

For the 19 year old, it is his first position in the motor trade having spent the summer in China teaching sailing skills to people from as young as six.

Rhys, who took his dingy instructor qualification four years ago and senior dingy instructor qualification earlier this year, described his four months in Xiamen as ‘really good experience.’  He spent a further month travelling.

“The five month experience was a challenge and I saw a different way of life.  My job was to improve the standards of the training instructors as well as teaching newcomers to sailing.”

He is a member of the Bala Sailing Club and trains instructors as well as those for whom dingy sailing is a hobby.  He also happens to like cars.

Rhys, whose home is in Oswestry, is a former pupil at the Marches School and the Marches Sixth Form.
